Future Perfect

Usamos o “Future Perfect”, em inglês, para expressar uma ação finalizada no futuro. Esse tempo verbal é indicado pelo “will have” com o “Past Particle” do verbo principal.

The Future Perfect expresses completed action by specific time or/and specific moment in the future. In this verb tense, we use “will” followed by a past participle of the main verb: / O Futuro Perfeito expressa uma ação finalizada em um tempo ou momento específico no futuro. Nesse tempo verbal, usamos “will” seguido do particípio passado do verbo principal:

O futuro perfeito em inglês pode ser formado por dois elementos:

1- the simple future of the verb "to have" (will have) / o futuro simples do verbo “to have” (ter).

2- the past participle of the main verb / o particípio passado do verbo principal.

Let's see the structure of the Future Perfect: / Vejamos a estrutura do Futuro Perfeito:

Subject + will have + past participle of the main verb
Sujeito + futuro do verbo “to have” + particípio passado do verbo

The Future Perfect is like a past in the future. This tense refers to an action in the future before another action also in the future. Você terá terminado sua tarefa de casa quando eu for te buscar?

b) She will have finished her tasks before we meet.
Ela terá terminado suas atividades antes de nos encontrarmos.

c) They will not have done the exercises before their teacher arrive.
Eles não terão feito os exercícios antes do professor deles chegar.

1- For actions that will happen before another action in the future. / Para ações que acontecerão antes de outra ação no futuro.

Examples: / Exemplos:

a) I will have finished my homework by the time my mum arrive. / Eu terei terminado minha tarefa de casa quando minha mãe chegar.

b) She will have woken by the time they leave home. / Ela terá acordado quando eles saírem de casa.

c) Peter will have finished the report before his professor call him. / Peter terá concluído o relatório antes de seu professor chamá-lo.

d) By the time dad get home, I will have cooked lunch. / Quando o papai chegar em casa, eu terei cozinhado o almoço.

2 – For actions that will happen before a specific time in the future. / Para ações que ocorrerão antes de um tempo específico no futuro.

Examples: / Exemplos:

a) By May, I'm sure I will have received a promotion. / Em maio, tenho certeza de que receberei uma promoção.

b) By the time we graduate, we will have completed four years of study. / Quando nos formarmos, teremos completado quatro anos de estudo.

c) The rain will have stopped by March. / A chuva parará em Março.

d) By Friday, her life will have changed completely. / Na sexta-feira, a vida dela mudará completamente.
